Our transactional expertise extends to both syndicated and single-lender real estate financings, single-state and multi-state transactions, and an array of debt structures, including mezzanine financing arrangements, sale leasebacks and commercial mortgage-backed securities financings. Types of transactions include construction loans, permanent mortgage loans, secured revolving credit facilities, standby letter-of-credit facilities, industrial revenue bond, HFA, Dormitory Authority and other bond financings, mortgage loan warehousing facilities, mortgage servicing secured loans for the acquisition of FNMA, GNMA, FHLMC and private label servicing portfolios, private banking mortgage loans of all types, government guaranteed loans, including FHA and VA loans and working capital facilities to various specialized industries such as REITs and mortgage banking companies.

Projects in which we have been engaged are wide ranging, and include office and apartment buildings, hotels, shopping centers, residential and commercial condominiums and cooperative apartment buildings, power projects, including renewable energy projects, and affordable housing projects, among others. We represent institutional clients in transactions involving equity investments in multi-family and other commercial projects. We have significant expertise in partnership, tax and development issues relating to investments in, and financings of, the construction or renovation of multi-family housing projects dedicated to senior citizens or persons of low income, many of which qualify for tax credits under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code. In the specialized area of real estate, we also represent creditors in connection with the restructuring of problem loans, including construction loans, permanent loans and tax-exempt financings.

We have experience with diverse kinds of real estate, including office buildings, shopping centers, apartments, condominiums and mixed-use projects throughout the country. We have expertise in a variety of specialized problems and issues arising in real estate bankruptcy proceedings, and represent creditors in motions for use of cash collateral and contested confirmation hearings. We also represent creditors in acquiring properties in lieu of foreclosure and, if necessary, through foreclosure actions and bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, we counsel lenders in the maintenance, operation and ultimate disposition of properties that they have acquired.
