Litigation

Emmet Marvin is a firm of courtroom-tested attorneys with decades of experience trying high-profile cases. We litigate in federal and state courts across the country, and before U.S. and international arbitration tribunals and administrative agencies. From our founder, Thomas Addis Emmet, to our former named partner, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, through today, we have always been known for our integrity, skill set, and credibility.

Our Litigation Department counsels and represents major multinational financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, privately held businesses, not-for-profit corporations, individuals and corporate employees in all phases of litigation and arbitration, from initial investigation, to hearing/trial, and on appeal. We provide business-savvy advice with early case assessment and cost-friendly approaches. Client service is at the forefront of everything what we do.

Our substantive experience is wide ranging, encompassing corporate trust, contracts, trusts and estates, RICO, patent and trade secret cases, securities fraud and shareholder class actions, real estate and commercial leasing disputes, corporate governance and white-collar matters, and business torts. We regularly represent creditors in actions involving finance agreements, and defend corporate trustees against claims for breach of fiduciary duty and the like. We have considerable experience defending financial institutions from lender liability claims, and investment funds from Advisers Act claims.
